The Forest -Surprisingly, it's one of the safer places to be ... during the day. The forest provides much needed shelter from the seemingly endless sunshine during the summer, and the vegetation seems to flourish with the absense of humans to cut trees down and plow virgin land. At night however, any human found in the forest might as well be digging their own grave.
The River - Rapid and roaring, the river may in fact be the only source of clean water besides water bottles found in local supermarkets. They also serve as a great place for showers and washing clothes, but it's no place for anyone who can't swim. The river will quickly and surely carry you farther than you may expect if you're not able to keep good footing.
The Cliff - Watch your step! One slip and you could plunge all 140 feet to the hard rocky earth beneath this cliff, and zombies would be sure to come and clean up your mess as soon as night falls. But that's as close as they'll ever get. Zombies aren't stupid, so they almost never travel up to the top of the cliff, making it a safe place for survivors. However, some zombies are finding out how popular of a location it is amongst humans, and are beginning to venture up into the cliffs. The rest wait at the bottom for the one stupid human who will slip and fall and leave them an easily-caught meal.
The Fields/Hills - Seemingly endless to the human eye, the fields and hills are a great place to find resources, but so much open space leaves plenty of room for a great target, so it's best not to hang around for too long.
The Desert - Hot, dry, and lacking water, no human ever wants to find themselves lost here. The desert heat is unrelenting during the day, but at night, temperatures are almost wintry-like. The desert is almost deserted. No one - not even zombies - want to spend time there unless absolutely necessary.
Smokey Island / Beach - Found very near the ocean shore, Smokey Island is a favorite spot for zombies, and blacklisted amongst survivors. The island was formed from the huge crater from the bomb, which cracked the earth's surface and spewed molten lava. The lava soon cooled and formed this small row of black islands, but both the underwater volcano and bomb explosion left the water contaminated and undesireable.
